The Vértice Gouveio sparkling wine was made strictly according to the classic method, from a selection of Gouveio grapes traditionally planted on the fresh, high slopes of Alto Douro. It features a very fine bubble and an elegant, delicate aroma reminiscent of quince, reineta apple, with mineral and lime notes. The foam dissolves in the mouth, which contrasts with the aroma by its great austerity and vigor, never losing elegance. It is a fresh sparkling wine, excellent for accompanying a meal. Caves Transmontanas built its notoriety and distinctiveness on producing exclusively Premium sparkling wines. The company began operations in the 1980s with an ambitious project to produce superior quality sparkling wines in the Douro region using the Classic Method, and later also invested in still wines. Located in Alijó, it benefits from the Mediterranean microclimate of the Cima Corgo subregion, producing not only sparkling wines with the right freshness and aromatic profile but also dense and complex still wines.
