This Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc, straight from Marlborough, clearly benefited from a particularly bountiful spring – those vine canopies were positively bursting with life! The result is a wonderfully intense expression of tropical fruit, with a pronounced, ripe passionfruit aroma, all thanks to the distinctive loess and clay soils of the Maxwell and Rutherford area. Alongside, the Myersdale brings a welcome touch of equilibrium, its characteristic boxthorn thiol notes keeping things grounded. Fermented in stainless steel with aromatic yeasts, it’s a pure expression of the Marlborough grape, and frankly, a perfect match with some fresh oysters or a light seafood dish.
