Villa Wolf 1996 – Ernst Loosen took over the J. L. Wolf winery in the Pfalz region, a tradition-rich area dating back to 1756. The Villa Wolf wines are born from vineyards located in Wachenheim and Forst, in the north of the Pfalz, on the edge of the Middle Haardt. Their importance for producing exceptional wines was recognized almost two centuries ago, in 1828, when the Bavarian Royal Government included them in a vineyard classification system similar to Burgundy’s Grand Cru. The unique regional climate of the Middle Haardt, protected by the Haardt and Wasgau mountains, is very mild and warm. The soils – rich in limestone, basalt, and sandstone minerals – combined with the great age of the vines form the essential elements of this terroir, ideal for producing dry wines rich in extract that can only be made from very ripe grapes. All grapes are hand‑picked selectively, with only mature, healthy bunches turned into dry wines. First‑rate vineyards, ancient vines, and low yields form the foundation of Villa Wolf’s expressive, terroir‑driven dry wines – top‑class dry wines of the Pfalz that complement the fruity Rieslings of Dr. Loosen, produced by Ernst Loosen in the Mosel. Perfect with pork meats and sausages. Allergen information Contains sulfites. SKU: 107117
