This Reserva from Quinta Paz is clearly a wine steeped in family history – five generations of winemaking, to be precise. Initially, the nose might be a little shy, but with a little air, you’re rewarded with a burst of ripe raspberry, cherry, and blackcurrant, subtly spiced with star anise. The texture is utterly velvety, and the finish is impressively long, making it a truly elegant companion for a hearty venison dish or a fine, aged cheese.
