This Kings Tawny from Warres is a delightfully surprising find, wouldn’t you agree? That 88-point Wine Spectator rating suggests a lightness that’s very much its hallmark doesn’t diminish the quality at all. The careful blending, as they put it, balances the youthful fruity aromas with the mellowing influence of oak ageing – a process undoubtedly aided by those historic “old vines” used in production. Seriously, it’s practically begging for a pairing with some aged cheeses.
