Wine sourced from two vineyards in Cima Corgo, one in Covas do Douro and the other in Ervedosa do Douro, each over 80 years old. The first was planted at 400 meters above sea level and faces west; the second at 570 meters and faces north. The soils are slate, predominantly blue slate, a harder stone that lends a more austere character to the wines. Winemaking was minimally interventive; fermentation takes place in open wooden vats made from old Port wine barrels, using indigenous yeasts. The wine offers a complex bouquet with notes of fresh fruit, forest berries, and caraway, with a faint hint of smoke. On the palate it is intense and fresh, with deep structure, a pronounced acidity, lively and well‑balanced.
