This wine, born from Alentejo’s Trincadeira and Aragonez, clearly had a spirited youth. The winemaking, carried out in terracotta amphorae – without a hint of temperature control, naturally – leans heavily into tradition rather than scientific precision. The result is a deeply ruby-coloured wine with red fruit aromas that, let’s be honest, verge on compote. Dry and full-bodied, it boasts a remarkably elegant and long finish, like a thoughtful conversation by the fire. The *Revista de Vinhos* awarded it 88 points, acknowledging that despite its wild character, it’s a wine worth savouring. I’d recommend pairing it with grilled beef or a classic chicken *estrogonofe*.
