Description

This Zambujeiro, born on the slopes of Borba, clearly enjoyed a rather opulent upbringing. The influence of the Serra D’Ossa, with its perfectly sculpted microclimate, manifests in a wine of remarkable richness – think Alentejo sultan! Blending Alicante Bouschet, Petit Verdot, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon, the result is a powerfully structured wine with tannins so finely honed, it’s almost as if a master craftsman sculpted them. The notes of wild berries and tobacco, coupled with dark chocolate and coffee – a truly regal bouquet – and a lingering finish, suggest this 92-point Parker wine is destined for aging, evolving beautifully in the bottle like a discerning monarch. Excellent with meat, it’s an experience that might just make you question who truly rules the table.
