Planted in the Setúbal Peninsula, where the grapes enjoy excellent maturation conditions that enhance each variety’s character, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet find an ideal terroir in the low‑yield, sandy soils of Palmela. The two varieties were vinified separately using a traditional method and kept apart until the final blend. Half of the wine spent over six months aging on French oak. Catarina offers a pleasant balance between the characteristic aromas of the grapes and the wood, with a long tasting persistence.
