**Château Mouton Rothschild 2023 Label — Joana Vasconcelos** For the 2023 label, Château Mouton Rothschild invited Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, who created a vibrant composition centred on the grapes and the elements that give rise to the wine: earth, water, sun, cold, and human labour. The work, titled *Paraíso* (Paradise), evokes the bond between nature and humanity and the richness of Château Mouton Rothschild’s terroir. The artist drew on her colourful graphic universe to craft a lively interpretation of the 2023 harvest. --- ### 2023 — Weather Conditions and Harvest After a wet late autumn in 2022, a mild and humid winter replenished the soil’s water reserves. Vine growth began in good conditions in early April, despite a cold spell that caused some damage. A mild spring encouraged vine development, and flowering occurred in excellent conditions at the end of May—six days ahead of the average. Summer featured several intense heat spells, especially at the end of August and early September. During the harvest, weather alternated between hot, sunny days and thunderstorm periods, allowing gradual grape maturation while preserving freshness.
