On the nose, the fruit is ripe and juicy, offering cherry and strawberry aromas alongside blackberry and blackcurrant notes, but with plenty of freshness to balance the opulence. The exotic, resinous, herbaceous character typical of the Roêda, with eucalyptus and mint hints, is clearly evident, complemented by a perfumed layer of dried rose petals and cedar wood. The focus, however, stays on the soft, opulent fruit that reappears on the palate and lingers to the finish. Though the palate is round and light, with velvety, discreet tannins, the fresh acidity lends firmness and vigor. A vintage in the Roêda tradition – captivating, seductive and easy to drink, yet full of depth and structure.
