“This Encosta da Criveira Reserva is a fascinating blend, born from the slopes around Castelo de Penela. The ‘quinas’ – referring to the granite outcrops – of Baga, Alfrocheiro, and Touriga Nacional, harvested with a touch of wind (and perhaps a little enchantment!), offer a wine of vibrant colour and violet nuances. On the palate, you’ll find fresh fruit, lively tannins and a refreshing acidity, all thanks to the region’s distinctive clay and clay-limestone soils.
