“A Gazela, from Sogrape, is a refreshing story brought to life in wine. Hand-harvested at Quinta de Azevedo, just outside of Barcelos, this wine features a rather elegant “stem-tender extraction” – a nice touch, of course. The young wine is carefully protected from oxidation through careful decantation, as if it had just taken a twenty-four hour nap, and then fermented cool at 16°C in stainless steel. Bottled with a sense of urgency, it’s a classic Vinho Verde, and frankly, would pair wonderfully with a simple ham and cheese sandwich.”
