This Gricha, from Quinta da Gricha, seems to have momentarily escaped the more austere nature of its Douro neighbours. It boasts vibrant red berry notes – blueberries especially – alongside a hint of spice, suggesting a subtly indulgent approach from the winemaker. That promised “velvety” and seductive finish is particularly enticing, and would pair beautifully with a hearty, slow-cooked beef dish with a touch of honey.
