“Born from the Meerlust Estate vineyard in Stellenbosch, this red wine feels like it’s only crafted in exceptional vintage years – a testament to the Myburgh family’s remarkably discerning approach to the land, now in its eighth generation. The blend is straightforward: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, delivering a vibrant rush of fresh red fruit alongside delicate floral notes. Following 17 months aging in French oak barrels, a subtle spice emerges, undeniably tempting. The final result is a medium-bodied wine, wonderfully smooth and velvety – ideally suited for pairing with a perfectly grilled steak, or perhaps, with a touch more refinement, a beautifully roasted duck.”
