According to its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust residue on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels—common in bottles that have been stored for decades. The National Wine Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always strives to preserve the visual appearance appropriate to each wine’s age. We typically choose brands and regions that perform well in old‑wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time; even inside a bottle its aromas evolve in different ways. Consequently, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe first, which helps release the wine’s natural aromas after many years of closure.
