The colour is a bright onion‑toned hue reminiscent of a classic Provence rosé. The delicate nose reveals notes of violet, red fruit, and rhubarb, along with nutty aromas from fermentation in new French oak barrels. This is a serious rosé, full of complexity and character. On the palate it offers good acidity and a light structure, finishing with a dry, peppery finish. In the national wine landscape, there is no producer more respected than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort arriving in Portugal. Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a formidable producer in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important figures who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his legacy with those who always create irreverent wines.
