It all began in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born amid the bustle of the Port wine industry, decided to start his own business. At about thirty, Manoel had some experience working in the field, and together with his uncle he founded a company that supplied brandies to major Port wine producers. Years later he established the company’s headquarters in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it has remained to this day. The entire Poças family came to share their passion for wine, blending respect for tradition with an open mind to the innovations brought by new generations. Today, with three estates in the finest locations of the Demarcated Douro Region, Poças exercises full control over the quality of its wines. (illustrative image only)
