The name Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno may not mean much to the most distracted, but he is none other than the great mentor behind the outstanding wines of Quinta das Bágeiras. The history of Quinta das Bágeiras already dates back to the work of three generations, yet it was only in 1989, under Mário Sérgio’s guidance, that the wines began to be bottled and sold, quickly establishing the estate as a benchmark for Bairrada wines and for Portugal. Although crafted according to the traditions of previous generations, the wines of Quinta das Bágeiras are not fleeting fads; they are always in style, revealing with each harvest the character of the region and the people who produce them.
