The name Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno may not ring a bell for the most distracted, but he is the great mentor behind the excellent wines of Quinta das Bágeiras. The estate’s history dates back to three generations of work; however, it was only in 1989, under Mário Sérgio’s guidance, that Quinta das Bágeiras wines were bottled and sold, quickly becoming a benchmark for Bairrada and Portuguese wines. Though made according to the techniques of earlier generations, the wines of Quinta das Bágeiras are not fleeting fads—they remain timeless, revealing the character of the region and its people with every harvest.
