Quinta das Marias The versatile variety could not fail to surprise us. Year on year we work our plots to understand them better, and our three parcels of Touriga Nacional are no exception. In every harvest it is Nature’s final decision, as its stimuli prevail. That is why the parcel that gives rise to this wine changes from year to year. It is a very powerful expression of Touriga Nacional, paired with a good but discreet French oak barrel, delivering a concentrated wine that is not overly extracted. Harvest: Manual, carried out on 8 September 2020. Vinification: Manual harvest in 20‑kg boxes. The grapes are destemmed; fermentation and maceration are carried out in a “Ganimede” vat. Malolactic fermentation occurs in a vat. Stage: 14 months in French oak barrels, 10 % new barrels, 90 % reused barrels. Bottling: July 2022. Analytical data: Total acidity 5.36 g L⁻¹, Reducing sugars 0.7 g L⁻¹, pH 3.60.
