Quinta D’Azinheira Region: Douro – sub‑region Baixo Corgo Production Site: Quinta D’Azinheira is located in the authentic village of Azinheira (Santa Marta de Penaguião), in an amphitheatre of extraordinary natural beauty on the left bank of the Corgo River. Production is made exclusively from own grapes cultivated on the estate between 300 and 400 m above sea level. Vineyard: One of the main legacies inherited from previous generations is the old vines, aged between 40 and 80 years, planted on loamy, highly stony soils that give the wine its identity and complexity. Harvest and Vinification: Grapes were hand‑picked at the ideal ripeness and transported in 20‑kg crates. After rigorous manual sorting, they were destemmed and gently crushed. The pressing was performed in a vertical press. The must was decanted for 48 hours at 8 °C in a stainless‑steel tank. Alcoholic fermentation occurred at 12 °C for 30 days, followed by a 12‑month maturation in new French oak barrels with bâtonnage over fine lees. Enology: Luís Leocádio. Pairing: Perfect with delicate shellfish, fish dishes, and foie gras. Awards Highly Recommended – Revista de Vinhos
