Quinta do Crasto As the name suggests, Crasto Superior Tinto is made from grapes from the Douro Superior region, at Quinta da Cabreira, located near Castelo Melhor. The 2022 vintage was extremely dry and hot, marked by very low precipitation and high temperatures during spring and summer. These conditions resulted in lower yields and smaller berries, but with excellent concentration. The old vines at Quinta do Crasto showed great resilience, producing grapes of outstanding quality. Despite the climatic challenges, the 2022 wines stand out for their elegance, balance and remarkable structure. Vinification: The grapes, sourced from Quinta da Cabreira (Douro Superior), were hand‑picked, transported in food‑grade plastic boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the cellar entrance. After total destemming and gentle crushing, the must fermented in stainless‑steel tanks at controlled temperature. Aging: Crasto Superior Tinto aged in French oak barrels for about 12 months. Bottled in February 2025. Technical Information: Vine Age: Over 20 years Total Acidity: 5.4 g/L pH: 3.75 Residual Sugar: 1.6 g/L Exposure, Soil and Altitude: Nascente–Norte | 130–450 m.
