Esporão was born in Alentejo from an unwavering desire to produce the best wines. This motivation is the legacy behind all of its wines and the main reason for expanding its range into other products and regions. The Quinta dos Murças, located in the heart of the Douro Denomination of Origin, is distinguished by the presence of eight distinct terroirs shaped by the mountains, varying altitudes and sun exposures, loamy soils, and the characteristic climate of the Douro river valley. In the vineyards, dozens of native grape varieties are planted under organic and integrated production systems. Olive trees, orange trees, almond trees, and Mediterranean scrub help maintain the ecosystem’s balance. (Illustrative image)
