Real Companhia Velha PORT WINE Port wine is, by definition, a generous, full-bodied wine with great aromatic richness, produced in the Demarcated Region of the Douro — the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Made from the traditional grape varieties used in the area, its vinification process is characterized by the addition of grape brandy to the must during fermentation, interrupting it and preserving part of the grape’s natural sugars. Porto Fundador is one of Portugal’s historic Port wine brands. Launched on the market in 1928, it has become a benchmark for its quality and its profile as a Tawny Port aged for five years. VINEGROWING AND STAGE Wines destined for the Porto Fundador lots begin fermentation in auto‑fermentation tanks with pellicular contact, and are then stopped by adding grape brandy. The selected wines for the lot age in oak barrels, a traditional method that preserves the fruity aromas, freshness, and the characteristic balance of this Tawny Port. SERVING INSTRUCTIONS Store bottles in a cool place (around 16 °C), dry and protected from light. Serve at 16 °C.
