This Descarada is a delightful reminder of the Dão’s ability to play with the weather. That scorching 2023 summer concentrated so much sugar in the early-picked Chardonnay and Semillon grapes that the result is a remarkably balanced wine. Expect notes of ripe banana and white stone fruits, while the palate offers a vibrant, controlled sweetness – almost as if the wine dictated its own harvest. Seriously decadent with a dark chocolate crème brûlée, wouldn’t you agree?
