History and Trajectory Initially dedicated to banking, tobacco sales, and lottery services, Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges was formally established in 1891, focusing on the production and commercialization of wine. The company expanded rapidly, acquiring Quinta da Soalheira in the Douro in 1904, where it produces its benchmark Port and Douro wines.
