Quinta De Lemos

About this producer

Quinta de Lemos produces wines in the Dão region, Portugal's oldest wine-producing region. The estate is located in the Dão valley, near Viseu, at an altitude of 340m, surrounded by four mountains (Serra da Estrela, Caramulo, Buçaco, and Nave) which protect it from extreme climates. The 50-hectare property includes 25 hectares of vineyards with granite and sandy soil. The winery focuses on creating exclusive wines from indigenous Dão grape varieties like Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro, and Tinta Roriz, combining tradition with modernity under the direction of winemaker Hugo Chaves. The family's symbol of four moons represents the four directions they explore the world, the four surrounding mountains, the four main grape varieties, and the four family virtues: humanity, simplicity, vision, and sharing. The estate also features the Michelin-starred restaurant, Mesa de Lemos.
