About this region

A Spanish appellation on the Mediterranean coast south of Valencia, demarcated since 1932 and split into two sub-zones: La Marina on the northern coast and Vinalopó inland. Monastrell dominates the plantings, giving dense, powerfully aromatic reds, while the coastal strip is Moscatel country.
