Viosinho

About this grape variety

A Douro white grape with naturally high quality and low yields, Viosinho is small-clustered and difficult — but produces wines of intense aromatic depth, body and freshness. Citrus, white peach, lightly tropical notes and a flinty mineral edge define the variety. Almost lost during the 20th century, it has been revived as a key component of the new Douro white movement, often as a co-star with Gouveio and Rabigato. Sometimes blended into white Ports.
