Campo Maior , Alentejo
Designed by Pritzker laureate Álvaro Siza Vieira and opened in 2007, Adega Mayor is one of Portugal's architectural pilgrimages — a luminous concrete-and-glass winery rising from the wheat fields of Campo Maior near the Spanish border. The visitor route runs the production process from grape receiving through the gravity-fed cellar to the panoramic rooftop terrace overlooking the Alto Alentejo plains. Owned by the Nabeiro Group (the Delta Cafés family), the estate combines wine tastings with a serious cultural-architecture programme and a contemporary restaurant.
Opened in 2007 in a building designed by Pritzker-laureate architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. Owned by Grupo Nabeiro (Delta Cafés).
