Quinta Casa Amarela is a historic Douro estate near Lamego, an 18th-century family property whose distinctive yellow manor house gives the quinta its name. Wine has been made here continuously for over two centuries; the visit offers cellar tours through the original lagares, walks among the terraced vineyards above the Varosa valley and tastings of the estate's increasingly serious Douro DOC reds and traditional Ports — a regional destination that rewards travellers willing to leave the main Douro highway.
