This Alicante Bouschet, hailing from remarkably old vineyards in the Setúbal region, presents a smoothness that’s almost unsettling – a texture that demands a certain deference. Expect ripe black cherry aromas, reminiscent of a particularly fine compote, alongside a deliberately assertive hint of pepper. While the Castelão is definitely present, it lends a touch of firmness to the palate, which is fortunately balanced by the wine's substantial body. It finishes remarkably long and satisfying, ideally paired with a hearty roast.
