This Alento from the Alentejo clearly believes in going all out. The winemaking, with complete destemming and cold fermentation, seems driven by a desire to really push the Trincadeira, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional – boosted by a touch of Alicante Bouschet – as if it were a personal challenge. With fermentation held at a brisk 24-26°C, this promises a vibrant, perhaps even slightly demanding wine, perfect alongside a hearty roasted pork dish or something with a generous sprinkling of spices.
