This Arribas do Douro Reserva is a tale etched in stone – quite literally. Crafted from hand-harvested Gouveio, Códega, and Rabigato grapes from the rugged slopes of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, it delivers a startling minerality, as if pulled straight from the bedrock. The traditional *battonage* – keeping the fresh must “lees” in contact with the wine – lends a bright citrus note, beautifully balancing the richness imparted by twelve months of ageing in French oak. A genuinely complex wine, ideally paired with grilled fish or a classic *bacalhau à Brás* to really showcase its acidity.
