Description

At the dawn of the nineteenth century, one of the most intriguing chapters of Portuguese wine was born with the release of a wine that would become an icon—coveted yet deliberately kept out of the spotlight. Its creator, Alexandre de Almeida, blended luxury hospitality with a cellar and a proprietary wine, thereby producing the rare and historic Buçaco wines at the beautiful Palácio do Bussaco in the mountains north of Coimbra. These wines eschew modernism and boast an impressive aging potential, capable of remaining in the bottle for decades.
