This Cadão 17 is a delightful reminder that the Douro’s spirit isn’t diminished with age. Dark fruit, intensely generous and full-bodied, intertwines beautifully with notes of toasted wood and rich cocoa, all thanks to the region’s exceptional terroir – a remarkably smooth and enveloping tannin structure. Seriously impressive for a wine of this maturity, it would pair wonderfully with a perfectly grilled beef steak, perhaps a nice ancho cut.
