This Tinta Francisca, a project from Casa Ferreirinha, clearly benefited from a lengthy slumber – this vine, dating back to 1790, had been somewhat forgotten, but now reappears with remarkable elegance. Produced in just 3662 bottles from 40 hectares in Sabrosa, it’s a truly rare and dedicated effort. On the palate, you’ll find a complex interplay of spices, balsamic notes, and the suggestion of wild berries, all underpinned by firm tannins and a vibrant acidity perfect for pairing with a nice grilled fish or a hearty beef dish.
