The Vinha Grande wine is a classic, intense red that reflects the region’s richness in producing high‑quality lot wines. From Casa Ferreirinha, a pioneer in exceptional and globally renowned Dourado wines, Vinha Grande stands out with its deep ruby colour, complex aromas hinting at wild berries, asparagus, artichokes and subtle spices. The well‑integrated oak accentuates its uniqueness, revealing on the palate a full body, balanced acidity, polished tannins and black fruit, culminating in a long, harmonious finish. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. This has been the case since its founding in the eighteenth century by Bernardo Ferreira, who refined the formula through successive generations, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her homeland. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership, twice widowed, she steered the company admirably. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a charismatic figure of great influence. Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of showcasing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of the brands, and the presentation of its wines. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global calibre.
