This Cavalo Negro do Tejo is a genuinely charming wine, boasting a gorgeous ruby hue. The prominent flavours of blackberry and raspberry sing through, supported by remarkably soft tannins – almost as if they’ve been gently coaxed into submission. It finishes with a lovely persistence, begging for another glass, and would pair wonderfully with a hearty beef roast or, perhaps, a classic feijão vermelho dish.
