This “Senhor do Alto” from Caves Bonifácio certainly caught me by surprise. Born in the Estremadura vineyards with a touch of Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Castelão and Touriga Nacional, it’s a wine that demands attention – and, frankly, a delicious one. Adelino Almeida Gomes clearly let the fermentation run its course at a cool 20°C, allowing for a beautiful balance between the fruit and tannins. A fantastic pairing with dark chocolate demonstrates that even a red wine can deliver a truly delightful surprise.
