Located in Saint-Émilion, a sub‑region of Bordeaux in western France, Château Cheval Blanc – as a 1er Grand Cru Classé – is without a doubt an exceptional wine. Its story begins in 1832 when Ducasse, a judge at the Libourne courthouse, bought a property near the town, acquiring 15 hectares of vineyard from Château Figeac. Among the most celebrated wines of Saint‑Émilion worldwide, the mythical Château Cheval Blanc has grown in importance over the years. In Saint‑Émilion, next to Pomerol, the estate spans 39 hectares divided into forty‑five plots, each treated as a separate vineyard because of differences in vine age, grape varieties, soil types, etc. The combination of these factors creates Cheval Blanc’s terroir, where wines of great complexity are produced.
