Cistus Reserva is made from the traditional Douro grapes Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional, and it offers a good mouthfeel with firm, enveloping tannins, showcasing warm spices that come from ageing in French and American oak barrels. Quinta do Vale da Perdiz is a family‑owned estate that began production in 1989. All of the winery’s wines are sold under the “Cistus” label and are produced from grapes sourced in the Douro Superior, mostly from the Fernandes family vineyards, which own the business, covering roughly 50 hectares across six estates.
