This Conde d’Ervideira, clearly born of a brisk harvest – the “Noturna” mechanical approach – reveals a remarkably well-considered wine. The Touriga Nacional contributes its characteristic grace, while the Alicante Bouschet, as always, thrives thanks to the mechanical foot treading. The result is a wine with a robust structure, certainly demanding a good pairing, yet underpinned by the finesse only achieved through fermentation in “vinimatics”. Expect a lengthy aging potential of 6-8 years, with further development anticipated, and the French oak aging adding a welcome layer of richness. Absolutely brilliant with slow-roasted beef – a truly harmonious combination.
