Cortes Do Reguengo Tinto

Description

Cortes do Reguengo tinto is made from the grape varieties Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, and Touriga Franca, harvested by hand and fermented in stainless‑steel vats. After fermentation it ages for about 18 months in French oak barrels, displaying a bright ruby colour with aromas of red fruit and toasted notes. On the palate the tannins are smooth and well integrated. Quinta do Reguengo is located in the Upper Douro sub‑region, beside the Douro River in Pocinho, Vila Nova de Foz Côa. The estate is characterised by clay‑sandy soils that include granite outcrops. These soils, combined with varying altitudes, exposures and grape varieties, are influenced by warm, humid winds from the Douro valley and cooler breezes from Spain, creating excellent conditions for regular grape ripening. Winemaking is handled by Pedro Branco, who is also the driving force behind the Família Silva Branco wines. (illustrative image only)
