This Dona Ermelinda Reserva from the Setúbal Peninsula certainly aimed high. Blending Trincadeira, Viognier, Castelão, Arinto, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, the result is a wine with a somewhat intriguing, and perhaps a little disorienting, character. It hints at a past where it undoubtedly shone. The aromatic complexity, with its white fruit notes and herbaceous undertones, speaks of a fertile terroir and careful winemaking – a fantastic accompaniment to grilled fish or a seafood paella, for a truly balanced pairing.
