Dona Francisca António Augusto Ferreira, the producer behind the eponymous estate, crafted this wine in collaboration with French winemaker Jean‑Hugues Gros, yielding a truly distinctive bottle. A lifelong love of the land, the Douro and winemaking drove him to abandon a career in beer brewing at Unicer and settle in Folgosa, on the south bank of the Douro. At the small estate—where traditional Douro vines have been cultivated for decades, boasting a superb view of the river and valley—he heeded his friends’ advice and devoted himself fully to winemaking.
