This Ojo Gallo is not a light rosé, but rather a “tinto de pouca cor” (a red wine with little colour). That’s how the cellar describes it – something we notice at first glance, hinting at a wine brimming with life, youth, and far more complexity than expected. In fact, the most intriguing aspect is that it comes from a batch of Garnacha tinta and Viura grapes sourced from a curious vineyard planted in 1957, where other red and white varieties are interplanted indiscriminately – a philosophy that guided the winemaking, as both grape varieties were vinified together. Undoubtedly, a very interesting discovery.
