This Fernão de Magalhães Reserva is clearly a wine that’s had a lengthy and enjoyable chat with its Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz companions. The deep ruby colour hints at a maturation that was certainly well-managed. Expect a burst of wild berries – raspberries lending a touch of exuberance, while blackcurrants provide elegant complexity. On the palate, the structure is firm, yet the tannins are beautifully balanced, a hallmark of Adega de Sabrosa, a cooperative that’s been producing award-winning wines since 1958. It’s a fantastic match for grilled red meats – truly a culinary delight.
