This Flor de São José Reserva, hailing from the Douro, is clearly a wine that’s spent a good eight months marinating in brilliant ideas. The hand-picked Gouveio and Rabigato grapes were treated with the utmost care, undergoing a cool maceration before being gently pressed – you could almost hear the ballet! The fermentation in new and used oak barrels certainly demanded patience, and the resulting wine is surprisingly fresh and balanced, finishing with a lingering note that’s delightfully secretive. Perfect with fresh fish or seafood, it's a wine to savour and share.
